The Journey Continues!

We’re on our way out the door to Zion and have no time to write anything here! Here are some more photos! Including but not limited to busking in Denver, playing at the Lion’s Lair, busking at the Boulder farmer’s market (which was bumpin), and playing at the Laughing Goat!

On the road again!

WE LOVE TOUR! Despite San Diego being a fickle mistress, (our sound guy at Jimmy Love’s showed up AFTER the show had started and turned out to be less of a sound guy and more of a DJ..) somehow no one was phased! The show went splendidly despite sound queefs, we jammed out with Marty O’Reilly and got a little shwasty on the dance floor thanks to DJ SoundMan. That night was spent with Marty O’Reilly staying up all night sock wrestling and cookin up bacon. You stay classy, San Diego.

We are currently in Flagstaff, on Saturday we had an incredible time at Mia’s Lounge, the crowd was exploding with amazing energy, tiger suits and dance moves Elvis would be jealous of. Not to mention the fact that it was 4/20.. there may or may not have been copious amounts of “holiday cheer” taking place out back after the show with all our new friends. ;) We might have also broken the record for Most Glasses of Beer Onstage at One Time. As usual, Flagstaff has treated us to the nines, charming us with Diablo Burger, Chocolate Tree, great busking crowds, crystal shops, chile relleno dinners with our Flagstaff family and a beautiful naked day at the river. Leaving for Albuquerque tomorrow!

The Sound of Light Southwest Tour

Whoa mama! Looks like we’ve officially recovered from the whirlwind of heaving electric barrel insanity on stilts that was Lucidity Festival. And it’s only now, after the ridiculous amount of dust inhaled at the live stage throughout the weekend (due to mad ferocious dancing) has finally agreed to get out of our boogers and go back from whence it came that we remember: we are leaving for our Sound of Light Southwest Tour this Friday! A fact which seemed to appear out of nowhere, popping out so suddenly someone could’ve lost an eye. Good thing we are in love with dust, and cannot wait to taste those sweet red mountains of the Southwest. Come Friday we Rainbows are packin up good ol’ Spirulina Sea Monster, tightening our bootstraps and heading back out to promote the bejeezus out of our new album, The Sound of Light! This will be our second to last tour before we leave for Europe this summer! HOOya!

Rainbow Groovy!

Here we see Spirulina in her gigantic glory on our last Southwest jaunt

Postponed?!

Dearest friends, family, and all of the incredibly supportive people we love and appreciate so much,

Let us begin by saying we’ve had a hell of a month getting prepared for our CD release show. We’ve spent all of our days going through the nearly impossible loops and hoops of alcohol permits, insurance coverage, hired security, catered bars, private event facades/RSVP lists (so we could have alcohol on the premises even without selling it), and everything else that was needed to turn the Carriage Museum into a music venue for one night. Because we have been so busy and stressed out about getting the proper permits and licensing for the event, we have not had time to focus on our music and the epic performance we believe you all deserve. We’ve decided to acknowledge our shortcomings and postpone the event so we can put our time, energy, and money into saying thank you the way we had originally intended. We’ve been sincerely humbled by this process and we want to use this opportunity to give thanks to the community that has whole heartedly supported this endeavor. We love you!!

The new official, unwavering, never-to-be-changed date for our Album Release Show will be SUNDAY MAY 26th at SOHO Restaurant & Music Club. All of the funds that were previously set aside for the rental of the Carriage Museum, stage, sound, security, and necessary permits will be reallocated for the May 26th event. We are going to transform SoHo into a whole new woman- dressin’ her up in red velvet, gilded tapestries, and a high top stetson hat! We’re looking into working with the Santa Barbara arts community to re-imagine the venue for the evening, and hopefully even create a second stage in the back for in between performances.

**As for this Sunday, the 7th, we would like to invite anyone who wants to join us for an intimate picnic at the park across the parking lot from the Carriage Museum. Our CDs have just arrived, so if you if you pre-ordered you CD (or you just can’t wait for a copy!), come join us for a picnic around 3pm. We’ll be acoustically jamming, so bring your instruments and blankets, but we don’t have any permits, so make sure you plan accordingly**

Thanks again for all your love and support,
Rainbow Girls

WE MADE IT!!!

Holy crapola! We can’t thank everyone enough for helping us with our Indiegogo fundraiser, we ended up raising a total of $17,020 which is over $1,000 more than we set out for! Still can’t believe it. We are eternally grateful for our friends, fans, total strangers on the internet, and families, who, arms clad in the purest shimmering samite held aloft the Excalibur of Fundraising and rallied patron a plenty to our campaign. Also big thanks to all you Clampers who came outta the woodwork at the end there, practically soaring in on magnificent drunken griffins, dropping cool twenties. Hot damn! We are almost melting with excitement to get this album finished and into everyone’s hands. Next step: Mastering!

THANK YOU AGAIN EVERYONE WHO DONATED! WE LOVE YOU!

Let the Fundraising BEGIN!

Hello everyone! We finally launched our Indiegogo (it’s like Kickstarter, but slightly different) fundraising campaign! We are trying to raise $15,000 to finish recording our first full length album, get it mixed/mastered by a pro, stick it on vinyl, and lay it in your trembling hands during a spectacular CD Release Celebration at the Santa Barbara Carriage Museum! We’ll have cello, fiddlers, a horn section, and some of those sexy Tumbleweed “eye candy” Wanderers singing backup for us (if they aren’t on tour)! But we need your help to make our dreams come true!

The clock, she be a’tickin. We only have till March 11 to swing this dizzy lizzy up to 15,000 buckaroos!
